- If you plan on cooking any of the meals that you take home within 2 days, keep them in the refrigerator. Any meals that you won’t be cooking within 2 days, put into the freezer. Ensure that when you take a meal out of the freezer, that you give it at least 24 to 48 hours to thaw in the refrigerator before cooking.
- Once you get your meals home, it is important to keep them safe to eat. Your refrigerator should be kept at 4 degrees Celsius or colder. Your freezer temperature should be at -18 degrees Celsius or colder.
- Please store any meals in tin foil containers flat.
- Thaw meals on a cookie sheet or plate in case of any drippings.
- Before opening any bags containing sauce, rub the bag well to ensure the ingredients are mixed.
- If you have a bag with only sauce in it, the easiest way to get it out is leave the bag zipped and push the sauce away from one bottom corner, cut a hole across the corner and squeeze out the sauce.
- An easy way to get ingredients out of the bag is to turn the bag inside out and use a butter knife or spatula to wipe the bag clean.
